Zhang-Jie Shi

Dr. Zhang-Jie Shi was born in 1974 in Anhui, China and received his Bachelor degree of Chemical Science from East China Normal University in Shanghai 1996. After obtaining his Ph. D degree in 2001 supervised by Shengming Ma from SIOC, he moved to the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Gregory L. Verdine (2001-2002). He subsequently spent two more years at Chuan He’s group as a Research Associate at the University of Chicago and then joined the faculty at Peking University at the end of 2004. In 2008, he was promoted to a full professor. Dr. Zhang-Jie Shi is the recipient of a Tetrahedron Young Investigator Award (2011), a CCS-RSC Excellent Young Chemist Award (2011), a Distinguished Young Investigator Foundation (2009), a New Star on Creative Research of Beijing City (2009), CAPA Distinguished Professor Award (2008), The First Rank Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Award (2008), a CCS-John Wiley Excellent Chemistry Award (2008), The Second Rank Award of National Natural Sciences (2007), a Distinguished Young Chemist Award of Chinese Chemical Society (2007), and a Synlett/Synthesis Journal Award (2006).
